Foxsports.com.au looks at what to wear and what to expect on day seven of 2011 Australian Open
Foxsports.com.au brings you everything you need for day seven of the year's opening grand slam, the Australian Open from Melbourne Park.
The weather: Please be careful in the sun. I saw a bloke walking out on Saturday night that was well and truly baked, apart from the stark white sunglass marks on his pink face. Just slip, slop, slap, people, be safe. It's going to be 29C in Melbourne town, and there's not heaps of room to hide from it.
The talking point: The gutsy performance of Aussie teen Bernard Tomic. The great hope of Australian tennis wasn't embarrassed by Rafael Nadal and showed touches of class that the Spaniard himself would be proud of.
The Aussies
Men's singles: Tomic is gone to mean we're out of lads in the male side of things. It's disappointing, but not unexpected. The kid needs to come back bigger, stronger and more motivated in 2012.
Women's singles: As above. Samantha Stosur couldn't live up to the pre-tournament hype, falling to Petra Kvitova in straight-sets. It's time to re-adopt Kim Clijsters.
Must-see matches
Li Na v Victoria Azarekna
The No.8 and No.9 seeds meet in a match-up that should be as close as the rankings suggest. Both enter in form and confident of being in the final eight. Li, who reached the last four here in 2010, took a little over an hour to get over Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 6-2 6-1. She's being coached by her husband this year, that could be interesting. Azarenka recored a 6-3 6-3 win against South African Chanelle Scheepers. Expect three sets and quality at both ends.
